The UCL Slade School of Fine Art is one of a number of organisations launching Junction: North London Cultural Consortium - a network of arts organisations in North London.

A launch weekend is running 27-29 April 2012 during which there will be a series of exhibitions, performances and artist-led walks around King's Cross.

The North Lodge at UCL will be open 12.00 - 5.00pm during the launch weekend and will display an exhibition of works relating the artists' walks and commissions. Visitors can also find more information about the Consortium, the artist's projects and what's on in the area.

Along with the UCL Slade School of Fine Art, the Consortium members are Camden Arts Centre, Cubitt, The Place, Wellcome Collection, Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design, UAL and UCLH NHS Foundation Trust Hospital Trust. The Consortium offers a new platform from which to support and develop artists' projects.

The Consortium will be launched with a series of exhibitions, performances and specially commissioned artist-led walks responding in different ways to the history, environment and people of the area.

The official launch of Junction: North London Cultural Consortium begins at Camden Arts Centre with a VIP reception on Friday 27 April, 6.30 - 8.30pm. There will be a temporary project space for performances and artists projects produced by Consortium members at 10 Woburn Walk, London, also open 12.00 - 5.00pm during the launch weekend.

One of the highlights of the weekend will be the walks around King's Cross each led by an artist, including a current Slade student, an alumnus and a lecturer. Places on each walk are limited so booking is essential. Brief details are given below:
