Lunch Hour Lectures On Tour

19 April 2012

This summer UCL's free public Lunch Hour Lectures will go on tour for the second time to the British Museum, with a short series of four lectures running every Thursday in June.

This summer series of four Lunch Hour Lectures will feature UCL's leading academics with introductions from British Museum curators. These lectures will highlight research work that UCL and the British Museum are doing together, continuing an excellent collaborative relationship.

On Thursday 7 June, Dr Matt Pope's lecture will discuss 'At home with the Neanderthals: Excavations at la Cotte de St Brelade, Jersey'. The following week, Dr Melissa Terras will be talking about 'Virtual Visitors: Why would anyone want to visit the virtual British Museum collections online?' On 21 June, come and hear Dr Matija Strlic talking about historical scents: 'A book by any other name would smell as sweet'. We then end the series on Thursday 28 June with Libby Sheldon: 'Discoveries and re-evaluations: Painting practices under the microscope'

The lectures will by held every Thursday in June from 1.15 - 1.55pm. Pre-booking is advised and bookings are now open for these lectures via the British Museum website. Alternatively the lectures will also be streamed live online. More information can be found at the links below.
