Want to find out about starting a business, learn new skills or have the chance to win over £15,000 in cash prizes?

Then look no further than the London Entrepreneurs' Challenge 2009/10, a workshop programme and business plan competition open to all members of UCL and the London Business School.

The first stage of the competition, which aims to show participants the process of starting a business by helping them do it for themselves, will involve producing an executive summary.

These will be judged and prizes awarded at a small event in the middle of term. The second stage will aim for a more detailed business plan to be produced for a grand final in December 2009.

Material covered in the workshops will include:

  • What makes a good business idea
  • How to pitch your idea
  • An entrepreneur's guide to intellectual property
  • What you really need to know about finance.

There will be substantial cash prizes on offer throughout the programme, which is managed by UCL Advances and starts with a workshop at 6.15pm on Tuesday 13 October.

Workshops will be on Tuesday evenings each week and will be followed by drinks and networking for all participants.
