Symposium on decision-making at Gresham College

Current and former UCL academics have organised a free symposium on the subject of decision-making in health and disease on 28 May.

Decision-making has become a hot topic in many disciplines, and researchers have started to develop more realistic models that take into account all kinds of information, such as people's beliefs and preferences, how they interact in social groups, and limitations in their reasoning abilities.

The speakers include Dr Neil Harrison and Dr Stephen Fleming (UCL Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience), Dr Elisabeth Rounis (UCL Institute of Neurology), Dr Ben Seymour (Wellcome Trust Centre for Neuroimaging at UCL), Dr Louise Whitley (Gatsby Computational Neuroscience Unit at UCL) and Dr Quentin Huys from Columbia University, New York.

The symposium will cover recent progress in using these mathematical models to understand the components of decision-making, and make predictions about how they interact in different contexts.
