UCL Union is seeking expressions of interest from UCL staff who want to become senior treasurers.
Senior treasurers are members of UCL staff who have a genuine interest in student matters. UCLU is run by students for students and often student officers need to make important decisions that may involve complex financial or legal ramifications.
Senior treasurers advise student officers on such matters, drawing on their experience so that the students are fully informed on the decisions they make. They also have have an oversight and advisory role at UCL Union Council, Finance Committee, Establishment Committee and other relevant standing committees.
Any member of UCL staff (except UCL Union staff) may stand to become a senior treasurer, subject to the constitution, with the exception of registered students of University College London.
The term of office for the elected senior treasurers shall be 4 years from 1 August 2009. There are currently two positions available and the deadline for expressions of interest is 5pm, Friday 29 May, 2009.
Interested individuals should complete the nomination form and return to the Democracy Support Unit (contact details are on the form). The nomination form and more information is available at the UCL Union website.
