Seminar: 'Security, Resilience and the Megalopolis'

The UCL Environment Institute will be holding a seminar entitled 'Security, Resilience and the Megalopolis' on Wednesday, 29 April.

The speakers include:

•    Professor Gloria Laycock (UCL Jill Dando Institute of Crime Science)
•    Professor David Crichton (Aon Benfield UCL Hazard Research Centre)
•    Dr. Mark Pelling (Kings College London Department of Geography)

The seminar will be held in Room 301 in the Pearson Building (UCL Front Quad). There will be an informal lunch at 1 pm, followed by presentations and discussion at 2 to 5 pm.

The seminar forms part of a six-part interdisciplinary series called Sustainability and the Megalopolis: Facing the Urban Realities of the 21st Century, which focuses on challenges of urban growth to issues such as health, security, culture and ecology. The seminars take place on Wednesday afternoons throughout the Spring and Summer terms, with an informal lunch taking place from 1 pm to 2 pm, followed by contributions from invited speakers and discussion from 2 pm to 5 pm.
