Film screening: 'The Island of Lost Souls'

11 June 2009

All are welcome to attend a free screening of 'The Island of Lost Souls' on 16 June at 6:30pm in the UCL Grant Museum of Zoology, Darwin Building on Malet Place.

This is the original 1933 adaptation of HG Wells' classic Island of Dr Moreau, and depicts a horrifying and fantastical tale of human/animal experimentation, rebellion and adventure.

An obsessive and reclusive scientist establishes himself as the tyrant ruler of a population of mutated beasts - the products of his own evolutionary experiments.
Following a nearby shipwreck, outsiders arrive on the island in time to see the fiends rise up against their master.

Dr Joe Cain, UCL Historian of Science, will introduce the film, and afterwards a free glass of wine will be served during a private view of the museum. The film is suitable for adults. There is no need to book places.
