UCL Lunch Hour Lecture Spring Series 2009

The challenges and opportunities facing the 44th President of the United States, in foreign affairs and beyond, will be discussed by Professor Philippe Sands, UCL Laws, in his Lunch Hour Lecture, 'President Obama and America in the world: From inauguration to action', on Tuesday 27 January 2009 at University College London.

The spring series kicks off with a talk by Dr Robin Murphy, UCL Psychology, on whether rule learning makes us human, in his lecture on Tuesday 20 January 2009.

Other lectures that will run this spring include:

  • Wellbeing for the 21st century - Professor Nick Tyler, UCL Civil and Environmental Engineering (Thursday 5 February 2009)
  • Children and the environment: independence or obesity? - Professor Roger Mackett, UCL Centre for Transport Studies (Thursday 26 February 2009)
  • Physiology on top of the world: Xtreme Everest - Dr Mike Grocott, UCL Medicine (Tuesday 3 March 2009)
  • One-person households - a resource time bomb? - Dr Joanna Williams, UCL Bartlett School of Planning (Thursday 12 March 2009)

1. Admission is free without a ticket, no need to book. However, entry is on a first-come first-served basis.

2. Lectures are held in the Darwin Lecture Theatre, University College London, Gower Street (entrance via Malet Place), London WC1E 6BT. Lectures run from 1.15 pm to 1.55 pm.
