The UCLU Musical Theatre Society, winner of Arts Society of the Year 2008 invite you to be a part of our next successful year.

We are looking for actors, singers, dancers and musicians for our production of West Side Story at the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre, 27-29 November 2008.

West Side Story, which is this year celebrating its fiftieth year, is a musical based on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. With an unforgettable score, featuring music by Leonard Bernstein and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim the show contains some of the most ambitious and challenging music in the musical theatre repertoire, such as 'America', 'I Feel Pretty' and 'Tonight'. The epic love story is set in New York where two rival gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, battle it out with tragic consequences.

To be a part of this prolific new production you must have enthusiasm, commitment and talent. Auditions are open to all UCL students, whether undergraduate, postgraduate, or international students studying here for just one semester or year.

Auditions
The first round will take place in two group auditions on Sunday 28th September at the Edward Lewis Lecture Theatre, Windeyer Building. For those who don't know where this is, a representative will meet you at the UCL front gates 30 mins prior to each audition to lead you.

• 11am-1pm: First cast audition for singing and acting parts, leads & ensemble.

• 3pm-4pm: Dance audition for dancers only

• 5pm-8pm: Second cast audition for singing and acting parts, leads and ensemble.

Orchestra auditions will take place separately. If you play an orchestral instrument and wish to be involved, please email: uczxmus@ucl.ac.uk

You will be required to sign up for which audition you wish to attend either at our Freshers' Fayre stall or by emailing your full name to: uczxmus@ucl.ac.uk . You are only required to attend one group audition, although if you wish to audition for the non-singing dance ensemble as well, you may come to two.

Good luck, and we look forward to meeting you!

The West Side Story production team.
