Matched Funding - Your money is now worth even more to UCL

9 October 2008

The UK Government has introduced a new initiative which means that UCL will receive an extra £1 for every £3 donation you make.

The Matched Funding scheme for Higher Education adds Government money to donations from individuals to universities. Under the scheme, launched earlier this year and running until 2011, any gift you make to UCL will be worth a third more to us at no extra cost to you.

In the previous year donations from alumni, staff, former staff, parents of current students and friends have enabled UCL Futures to invest more than £360,000 in vital scholarships and pioneering teaching and research projects. The additional money UCL will receive thanks to the Matched Funding scheme will mean that over the next three years even more projects will receive financial support and numerous more scholarships will be offered to UCL students.

The scheme applies to gifts from both UK and overseas donors, meaning that your gift will be matched regardless of whether or not you are a UK tax payer. For those of you who already have an existing regular donation to UCL Futures, all payments of your gift made after 1 August 2008 and until the scheme ends will be matched.

To make a donation to UCL please visit our Make a gift pages. To get the most out of the scheme you can set up a regular donation - every gift you make will be matched until the scheme ends in 2011.

If you have ever considered making a donation to UCL, act now to take advantage of this exciting initiative and make your money go further.
