Launch of Global Health Watch 2: An Alternative World Health Report

The UCL Institute for Global Health and Zed Books are launching 'Global Health Watch 2: An Alternative World Health Report' (GHW2) on 16 October 2008 at UCL.
Speakers include Richard Horton (Editor of the Lancet), Dr David McCoy (Co-Managing Editor GHW2 and UCL Centre for International Health and Development), Professor Anthony Costello (UCL Institute for Global Health/Centre for International Health and Development) and Professor P Chandra (Institute of Social Paediatrics, Stanley Medical College, Chennai, India).
GHW brings together academics, civil society organisations
and social movements to promote health and improve the performance of
global health institutions.
More than 100 individuals have
collaborated to produce the second report which consists of over 20 chapters, covering subjects such as the World Health Organisation, the
World Bank and the Gates Foundation.
The book covers a range of health challenges including the continued growth in global poverty, climate change, war, food prices, and water and sanitation.
The launch event is open to all, from 4.45 to 6.15pm in the Jeremy Bentham Room, Main Building UCL, Gower Street.
