UCL is to host an architectural jelly banquet in the main quad as part of a series of events to celebrate London Festival of Architecture in July. The banquet will showcase jellies entered into the Bompass & Parr Architectural Jelly Design Competition.

Architectural practices have until midnight on 23 May to enter the competition, which has already attracted designs from Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, Grimshaws and Make. Each entry will be judged on innovation, aesthetics and 'wobble factor' by a specialist team of judges including Professor Stephen Gage (UCL Bartlett), Maxwell Hutchinson (Architects for Aid) and Sarah Gaventa (CABE Space).

The competition and event has been organised by UCL Bartlett Student Harry Parr, as part of his final project. Speaking about the event Harry said: "The competition allows architects to showcase their creativity on behalf of charity. It should also be lots of fun. Early indicators show that there's going to be tough competition between inspired entries: I know that some practices have been quivering to get started."
