An agreement between UCL and the University of Monterrey, Mexico (UDEM) was signed by Professor Michael Worton, UCL Vice-Provost (Academic & International), and Mr Thomas Martin Buntru Wenzler, UDEM Director of International Studies, on 16 July 2008.
The agreement will enable students and academic staff from UDEM to study at UCL on a range of courses, from short programmes up to doctoral-level research; the initiative is designed to generate long-term research collaborations, as well as to provide new study-abroad opportunities for UCL students.
UDEM has 10,553 students and offers more than 50 programmes at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
There are 49 Mexican students studying at UCL: 22 pursuing doctoral research, 22 on taught masters degrees and five at the undergraduate level (two of whom are on short-term study-abroad programmes).
