Azerbaijani archaeology visit

The UCL Institute of Archaeology was visited by the Minister of Culture & Tourism for Azerbaijan, Mr Abulfaz Qarayev, on 27 February 2008.

Professor Stephen Shennan, Director of UCL Institute of Archaeology, welcomed Mr Qarayev, who was accompanied by Mr Vasif Eyvazov, Head of International Relations at the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture.

They also met Roger Matthews, Professor of Near-Eastern Archaeology, Thilo Rehren, Professor of Archaeological Materials & Technologies, Tim Williams, Senior Lecturer, Managing Archaeological Sites, and Bob Allan, UCL Senior Tutor.

Mr Qarayev witnessed laboratory demonstrations by Dr Dafydd Griffiths, Laboratory Manager, and Ana Tam, an MSc Conservation for Archaeology & Museums student.
