Two leading UCL cardiovascular experts are to receive awards from the European Society of Cardiology (ESC).

John Martin, Director of the UCL Centre for Cardiovascular Biology & Medicine, has been awarded the ESC's Gold Medal, and Paul Riley, UCL Institute of Child Health, has been given the Outstanding Achievement Award 2008 of the ESC Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science.

The awards will be made on 30th August at the Annual Congress of the ESC in Munich.
