UCL hosted its annual Parent and Family Day on 15 March 2008, organised for relatives of UCL undergraduate students.

The day comprised a series of activities, all held at UCL's central campus on Gower Street.

Parents Day

Highlights of the event included tours of UCL's museum collections and lectures by current PhD students. Main addresses were given in the Bloomsbury Theatre by UCL's President and Provost, Professor Malcolm Grant and current parent, UCL Council member and alumnus Professor Chris Thompson (UCL Psychology 1974, MBBS 1977, MD 1987).

Professor Grant spoke about UCL's achievements, its standing of 9th amongst global universities and how it is working to address some of the world's biggest challenges. His words were then followed by Professor Thompson who spoke of his fondness for UCL and how proud he was to be a parent of a second year English student.

Parents and family of UCL students mingled with senior academics and had the opportunity to experience the educational, social and cultural atmosphere of UCL.
