Call for students to tutor in schools

15 May 2007

The UCL Widening Participation Unit Tutoring Programme is now recruiting for student tutors to start in October 2007.

We need students who are willing to volunteer an hour or two each week to go into schools and work with students in a range of subjects.

We work with over 20 primary and secondary schools and sixth forms in North and Central London. You will work with individual students, small groups or will support a teacher by providing assistance to the whole class.

Students who took part in the programme this year have improved their skills, contributed to the community and had an enjoyable and challenging experience.

Placements will start mid-October. Training will be provided and travel expenses will be covered.

Interested students should attend a session at the Chemistry Lecture Theatre in the Christopher Ingold Building on Gordon Street at 5pm on Monday 21 May OR Tuesday 22 May.

There is no need to pre-register and both sessions will last one to two hours.
