Materials Modelling meeting

24 July 2007

A group of computational materials science researchers invites anyone at UCL with an interest in this field to a 'town meeting' on Tuesday 24 July, 2-4pm in the Chemistry Lecture Theatre.

The meeting will be a forum to discuss current thinking and canvass views on a new centre the researchers are setting up, provisionally known as the 'Virtual Materials Laboratory'. The centre will aim to enhance the existing computational materials science research effort, to raise its profile, to develop new materials modelling tools and to create the critical mass required for large-scale funding bids.

The centre will operate under the umbrella for the inter-faculty Centre for Materials Research, and will work closely with the London-wide Thomas Young Centre.
