GAPS test launch at UCL

22 January 2007

The launch of the Grammar and Phonology Screening Test (GAPS) test is taking place at 12 noon on 22 January 2007, at the UCL Centre for Developmental Language Disorders and Cognitive Neuroscience, 4th Floor, 123-126 Grays Inn Road, London.

Centre Director Professor Heather van der Lely will give a short talk to explain the GAPS and afterwards will be available to answer any of your questions. There will also be copies of the GAPS test available to browse through and buy. BBC Radio Four's Today Programme, national newspapers and specialist publications will be covering the event.

The GAPS test is a quick and simple screening test used to assess the grammatical abilities and key pre-reading skills of children between the ages of 3½ to 6½ years. The test assesses whether the child has appropriate knowledge of how to use grammatical rules to create sentences and whether they know the rules underlying how to add sounds together to correctly make words.
