CAIS forum 2007: 'Business through Biophotonics'

The UCL Centre for Advanced Instrumentation Systems (CAIS) is hosting its annual forum on 14 February 2007, entitled 'Business 'Through Biophotonics'.

Featuring speakers from both industry and academia, the forum will cover a number of technical developments in biophotonics, including photodynamic therapy, bioanalysis, microarrays and much more.

Chaired by Dr Steve Welch, Director of UCL CAIS, the forum will feature a keynote presentation 'Biophotonics - Added Value Or Just Hype?' by Professor Wilson Sibbett, Chair of the Scottish Science Advisory Committee and Wardlaw Professor of Physics at St Andrews University.

Other topics to be explored during the forum include 'The role of photonics in drug discovery', 'The applications of photonics in healthcare' and 'Telecoms to life science: materials and photonic integration for portable DNA analysis'.

The forum will be held in the Gustav Tuck Lecture from 1pm, followed by a wine reception in the South Cloisters.
