ENSIS Ltd, the consultancy arm of the Environmental Change Research Centre at UCL Geography, has donated £100,000 to support research staff salaries, masters teaching, bursaries and scholarships for PhD students, and to buy equipment.

Established in 1986, ENSIS specialises in freshwater ecology and palaeoecology and undertakes work for national and local government, environmental protection agencies, nature conservation bodies, and charitable trusts. The company also organises and runs conferences, seminars and training courses and publishes scientific books, conference proceedings and research reports on environmental themes.

This latest gift brings to £800,000 the total donated by ENSIS to UCL over the last seven years.
