Suez Crisis: 50 years on

28 September 2006

UCL Hebrew & Jewish Studies and the Centre for Israeli Studies are hosting a one-day conference on Wednesday 8 November 2006 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Suez Crisis.

Professor Keith Kyle, Professor Scott Lucas, Dr Christopher Goldsmith, Dr Laura James and Dr Neill Lochery will be among the eminent speakers. Each will each give a paper examining the event from the perspective of one of the countries involved.

Professor Sir Lawrence Freedman, Vice Principal of King's College London, will chair the conference, and there will be opportunities to put questions to the experts after each paper.

The conference is open to all, at no cost and with no need to book places. The event will run from 12.30pm to 6pm and will conclude with a reception for all speakers and guests.
