Third Baltic Symposium at UCL

30 March 2006

The UCL School of Slavonic & East European Studies (UCL SSEES) is co-hosting the Third Baltic Symposium with the Baltic Council on 31 March 2006.

'The Baltic States: Two Years after Joining EU and NATO' has four working panels: Politics, Economics, Social Models/Society and Youth Culture & Identity. A final roundup session is providing a forum for open discussion around the general theme of the symposium.

The keynote speech is being delivered by Dr Mart Laar, former Prime Minister of Estonia, and the ambassadors of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania are participating in the roundup panel. The ambassadors of Finland and Serbia & Montenegro are also attending and speakers include the Latvian Minister of Culture, an MEP, representatives from the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and the business community.
