Launch of MSc in Environmental Systems Engineering

14 June 2006

UCL's new MSc in Environmental Systems Engineering is unique in combining two engineering disciplines: environmental engineering, which is concerned with devising, implementing and managing solutions to protect and restore the environment; and systems engineering, which deals with large and complex systems.

Linking these areas of study will prepare graduates to offer practical solutions to environmental challenges within a business framework.

Course director Dr Sarah Bell says: "This new MSc responds to industry and community demand for professionals who are able to develop integrated solutions to environmental problems. Sustainable development is one of the greatest challenges of our time, and we will provide students with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to meet this challenge now and into the future."
