22 November 2005

Since 1998, UCL has been holding biennial conferences as a discussion forum and showcase for the variety of approaches to teaching and learning at the University.

The next conference in the series takes place on Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 March 2006, and will comprise talks, discussions, debates and workshops as well as demonstrations and posters at the associated exhibition.

All staff are invited to contribute to what will be an opportunity to share good practice, to hear about innovative approaches, and to discuss topics of current significance. There are no specific themes for the event but contributions are encouraged in areas such as:

  • innovations and good practice in e-learning;
  • teaching & learning strategies particularly concerning employability;
  • skills delivery;
  • entrepreneurship;
  • assessment;
  • international strategy;
  • globalisation;
  • leadership;
  • implications of the introduction of fees;
  • widening participation.

If you would like to contribute, please download the Proposal Return Form at the top of this article, and send it as an email attachment to Sara Kelly, the Conference Co-ordinator (sara.kelly@ucl.ac.uk). The closing date for the receipt of completed forms is Friday 2 December 2005.

Proposals will be reviewed by a panel comprising members of the Academic Committee's Executive Sub-Committee on Innovations in Learning, Teaching and Assessment. Successful proposers will be notified by mid-January 2006.
