Refugee and asylum-seeking debate

UCL is to host a panel discussion and audience debate on the subject of refugees and asylum seekers.

Organised by the International Rescue Committee UK, 'A World Apart? Refugees, the Media and the Search for a Balanced View' will examine popular and political views of refugees and asylum seekers.

The panellists are David Aaronovitch, columnist and commentator, and Dr Heaven Crawley, Director of AMRE (Asylum Migration Race & Equalities). Consulting will be David Goodhart, Editor of Prospect; and Caroline Moorhead, author of Human Cargo. The moderator will be John Lloyd, Editor of Financial Times Magazine.

'A World Apart?' forms part of Refugee Week 2005 and will take place in the Gustav Tuck Lecture Theatre at 7pm on 21 June 2005, preceded by a reception in the South Cloisters at 6:30pm. Admission is free but by ticket only. To reserve a place telephone +44 (0)20 7692 2727.
