Mrs Gladys Wundowa

12 July 2005

UCL regrets to report the death of Mrs Gladys Wundowa, a UCL cleaning operative, in the Tavistock Square bus explosion on 7 July 2005.

Mrs Wundowa had worked in various departments at UCL since 1989. Sue Godsell, Head of Facilities Services at UCL, said: "We were deeply saddened by the news of Gladys' death in the bus explosion on Thursday. Gladys was a cleaning operative in the Cleaning and Waste Services Department at UCL. She worked in a number of areas across the university, most recently in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering in the Chadwick Building.

"During the 16 years she worked at UCL, Gladys made many friends who knew her both professionally and personally. She was a loyal and long-serving member of our team and she will be very much missed. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues at this time."
