Remember the fifth of November

The closing date for this year's UCL Graduate School 'Research Images as Art/Art Images as Research' competition is 5 November 2004.

Osteoclasts with Alien Hands, Dr Stephen Nesbitt The competition, which attracts a first prize of £250, is open to all UCL postgraduate students and academic staff.

The cross-disciplinary competition provides a forum for staff and students to display images that have come about through their research. Last year's five winning entries came from a diverse range of disciplines including Medicine, Mechanical Engineering and History of Art. First prize for 2003 went to Dr Stephen Nesbitt (Medicine) for his image Osteoclasts with Alien Hands, produced by an electron micrograph.

The five prize-winning artworks, together with a selection of the other entries will be displayed in the South Cloisters from 8-16 December 2004; all entries will be posted on the Graduate School website.
