New PhD in Biomedicine

UCL invites applications for a new four-year PhD in Biomedicine, funded through the MRC doctoral training accounts, beginning in September 2005.

UCL Medical School UCL has substantial breadth and strength in biomedicine: many of the departments are top-rated in the government's Research Assessment Exercise and produce internationally competitive research in modern world-class facilities.

The scheme will range across the faculties of Life Sciences and Clinical Sciences and associated specialist institutes. The first year will involve a rotation around three of the participating laboratories, according to the student's interests. In addition during this period there will be courses dealing with key research skills. The student will then select a laboratory for the following three years in which to undertake their PhD training. A total of five places will be available.
