Minister visits Eastman
24 November 2004
The Minister of State for Health with responsibility for dentistry, Ms Rosie Winterton visited the Eastman Dental Institute in November 2004.

The IQE tests the knowledge and skills of dentists who wish to practice in the United Kingdom but whose qualifications are not recognised for full registration by the General Dental Council (GDC). As part of a recent initiative supported by the Department of Health, the Eastman has organised several diets of the IQE examinations in order to clear the backlog of candidates wishing to sit the examination.
Mr Geoff Dunk, Director of Administration at the Eastman said: "The
minister met with many IQE candidates who complimented the quality of
the training and revision courses offered by the Eastman. The jobs fair
highlighted awareness of NHS vacancies in the United Kingdom for these
candidates, matching newly qualified candidates with job opportunities.
In addition to helping to increase the dental workforce in the United
Kingdom, we have also generated additional income for the Eastman which
is contributing towards our savings target."
