Anthropology for all

25 June 2004

An event to introduce sixth form students to the subject of anthropology has been organised by UCL's Department of Anthropology; 'London Anthropology Day' will take place at the British Museum's Clore Education Centre on 21 June 2004.

All London-area anthropology departments as well as the Royal Anthropological Institute and the British Museum are taking part in the event, which has been coordinated by Dr Sara Randall (Anthropology).

The programme will include talks, workshops and a tour of the museum and has been designed for students considering their forthcoming UCAS applications.

Students will be able to discover what anthropology is, its topical issues and its relevance to life and work in the 21st century. They will also be offered practical advice on the right course for them according to their interests and abilities.

The event, which is primarily aimed at London state schools and colleges of further education, has been funded by UCL's Widening Participation Unit.
