Students get skilful

Skills4Work, a joint initiative between UCL's Career Services and UCL Union, is hosting a number of workshops and events aimed at increasing the employability of UCL students.

The first major event, Careers in the City, is for students considering a career in banking, accountancy or management consultancy. On 3 November 2003, students can attend a lunch with UCL alumni who are working in companies such as Deloitte & Touche, Booz Allen & Hamilton and McKinsey & Company. Interactive case studies will be presented after lunch by representatives from top finance companies, with the aim of helping students identify and develop useful skills.

Registration for this day is open, and will be followed by a similar event on 16 February 2004 for those interested in the creative and media fields.

In addition, some of the UK's top recruiters will be on hand to offer guidance at a number of skills workshops to be held throughout the year.
