Award judge Professor Brian Gazzard, of Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, stated: "Professor Vargha-Khadem's achievements are truly outstanding both in the field of science and in the field of understanding the importance of mental health to child development."

The Asian Women of Achievement Awards are widely regarded as the most prestigious and high-profile of their kind. They acknowledge individual accomplishment of Asian women from across the UK. Prizes are divided into seven categories, recognising efforts in arts & culture, business, social & humanitarian and media fields.
