Registrations invited for the UCL Entrepreneurs' Challenge
22 December 2003
UCL's second Entrepreneurs' Challenge is approaching, and staff and students are invited to register for the competition and attend workshops on fundamental business concepts.
Led by UCL Ventures, the series of workshops is supported by a business plan competition, which offers entrants the chance to win £10,000 and the opportunity to learn vital business skills. The challenge is supported by the Provost of UCL, the Centre for Scientific Enterprise - a joint venture between UCL and London Business School - venture capital groups, legal firms and technology companies, all of which will be represented in the workshops and the judging panel.
Mr Tim Barnes, coordinator of the challenge, said: "Participants do not need to have a business idea in order to join. Most entries will be team-based, and there will be a chance to form teams once the competition is underway. All entrants will be offered coaching and mentor support in putting their ideas together."
Workshop topics will include how to spot a good idea, intellectual property and finding funding.
