UCL's School of Slavonic & East European Studies launches new journal

6 August 2003

UCL's School of Slavonic & East European Studies (SSEES) launched a new journal, Central Europe, in June 2003.

The ‘Central Europe’ journal

The journal publishes original research articles on the history, languages, literature, political culture, music and society of the areas once part of the Habsburg monarchy, or Poland-Lithuania, from the Middle Ages to the present. Apart from articles, Central Europe publishes discussion papers and book, archive, exhibition and film reviews.

It is published biannually in association with the SSEES Centre for the Study of Central Europe. PhD student Ms Katya Kocourek (SSEES) is executive editor of Central Europe. Members of the centre sit on the editorial board which is chaired by Professor Robert Pynsent (SSEES).
