CNIE Research Fellow Dr Matthew Chin awarded Marie Curie Global Fellowship

25 February 2025

Marie Curie

We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Matthew Chin has been awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Global Fellowship from the European Commission (EC). This highly competitive and prestigious fellowship will support his research from 2025 to 2028, with a joint affiliation at Harvard University and University College London (UCL).

MSCA Fellowships are among Europe’s most sought-after research grants, fostering global mobility, interdisciplinary collaboration, and career development at top institutions. As part of the Fellowship, Dr. Chin will spend the first two years at Harvard University’s John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, working under the supervision of Prof. Jennifer Lewis. In the final year, he will return to the Centre for Nature Inspired Engineering (CNIE) at UCL, where he will be hosted by Prof. Marc-Olivier Coppens.

His research project, VASPRINT, aims to engineer bioprinted cancer models to study how vasculature influences the delivery of therapeutic immune cells. By unravelling these mechanisms, his work has the potential to advance immunotherapy approaches and improve cancer treatment strategies.

We congratulate Matthew on this recognition from the EC and look forward to the exciting opportunities, collaborations, and discoveries that will emerge from his MSCA Fellowship!
