Dr Matthew Chin (CNIE) presented at the TERMIS-AP 2023 Conference in Hong Kong
23 October 2023
UCL CNIE PDRA Dr. Matthew Chin presented a poster, entitled: “Algorithmic design approach to generate lymph node-inspired 3D microprinted cell scaffolds”, at the Tissue Engineering and Regenerative Medicine International Society – Asia Pacific TERMIS-AP Conference 2023 in Hong Kong. The work presented by Matthew was the result of a collaboration involving himself, Prof Marc-Olivier Coppens and Dr Barry Reid from the CNIE, as well as Dr Sophie Acton and Veronika Lachina from the MRC Laboratory for Molecular Cell Biology.
TERMIS is the most prominent organisation in the field of tissue engineering and regenerative medicine (TERM) and TERMIS-AP represents one of the most influential TERM conferences in the Asia-Pacific region. Close to 1000 delegates from 38 regions around the world attended the conference, with plenary lectures delivered by renowned professors, such as Donald Ingber (Harvard), Molly Stevens (Oxford/Imperial/Karolinska) and Barbara Chan (University of Hong Kong/The Chinese University of Hong Kong). The conference featured invited and keynote lectures on topics including 3D bioprinting, organ chips and cancer modelling, which are highly relevant to Matthew’s work, as part of the Cancer Grand Challenges project (NexTGen), on microfabricated scaffolds to model the tumour microenvironment.
