UCL Museums & Collections
We offer various activities for state Secondary schools, these can link to specific areas of the National Curriculum or can be enrichment activities ideal for after-school clubs. Our learning staff can visit classrooms to run hands-on
sessions with real objects, or teachers can bring their students to the Petrie, Grant or Art Museums.
We are keen to work in partnership with schools, meaning we commit to regular engagement for 2-3 years. We work with a selection of London Secondary schools that are identified by the University's Widening Participation team. Contact us to develop plans for working together.
Our loan boxes can be borrowed by any school, and teachers can download lesson-plans to explore some of the subjects that our museums cover.
We work closely with UCL’s Widening Participation Team to raise aspirations among young people. This part of UCL leads on the development and implementation of UCL’s UK undergraduate recruitment strategies, with particular emphasis on widening participation from students and young people from under-represented groups. They offer a range of activities for school and college students.
See the UCL Widening Participation site for more details on the activities that are available.
