The Forest is a search for individual trees that form the background in a piece of work but also trees that form the main subject in prints in the collection. The trees found were recorded and their outline traced. From these records a concertina book was made in which the origin of the individual trees were noted – like an almanac, with the year of the making of the print and a description of the tree and its location in the print. The accompanying online animation shows the trees coming together to make up a forest.  From this forest image a screen print was made bringing the trees back to the collection.
