S.3. – S.5.

Entry:

Our object was found in the Pathology Collection between S.3. and S.5.

According to the case notes, S.3. is a pair of lead nipple shields which were in use for a period of ten weeks. They were regarded as the incriminating factor in producing plumbism in a male child aged 5/12, who had a history of loose stools for some weeks, vomiting for ten days, irritability and had one fit.

S.5. is a section of Liver, myocardium and Kidney from a female aged 8 years. They were extracted for a suspected case of poisoning due to Phosphorus. The case notes are incomplete as the second page is missing.

A dymo replica of the red S.3. and S.5. labels have been added to the Object Retrieval Materials Repository.
