Tarkhan Tomb 1060

Dating: Dated from Petrie by pottery types and the pot marks to the First Dynasty, time of king Djer (about 3000 BC)

The finds:

• 17 calcite vases, either perfect or restorable. Types 53k, 54l, n, p, r, v, w, 62n, u.
• 7 dishes and bowls. Types 8g, 9h, r, y, 21g, 29h, l.
• 1 small quartz bowl
• 1 unornamented oblong cosmetic palette
• 3 tall ivory draughtsmen
• 1 flat dome shaped ivory draughtsman
• 1 copper chisel
• Remains of an adze
• Various scraps of copper
• Several scores of flint. Types XIX, 5, 6
• 1 small globular flint
• 1 box of crude mud
• A black ink graffito on one of the pieces of a prepared stone
• Several thick pads of linen of various qualities
• 2 vases of un-Egyptian appearance
• Pottery. Types 4, 12d, 17c, 19g, 24m, 37e, 50t, 56f, 57rt, 59h, 64d, 67b, 68c, e, 75j, o, u, 76d, e, g, 91c, 92b, 93d, k, 99s
• several seal impressions
