Coffin Texts
Modern name for funerary texts of the Middle Kingdom (about 2025-1700 BC) found pre-eminently on the interior walls of coffins and burial chambers; the corpus derives in part from the Pyramid texts, and includes numerous texts included in the later corpus of funerary literature the Book of the Dead (Forman/Quirke1995: 183).
