The demotic inscription reads '... before (?) Pharaoh Maa(t)-Ra, the great god'.
King Amenemhat III (Twelfth Dynasty, about 1807/06-1798/97 BC) was worshipped in the Fayum as a god in the Late Period, and Ptolemaic and Roman Periods. The centre of the cult was Hawara, where the pyramid complex of the king became famous in ancient Greek writings as the 'Labyrinth'.
