Soul-houses

Small models of houses and offering tables made in clay.
It is possible that they marked tombs at the surface. They have been found throughout Egypt, and all date to the Middle Kingdom (about 2025-1700 BC).

There are three types
(click on the images to see the archaeological context of the houses):

	offering tables (a substitute for more expensive offering tables in stone)
	offering table including a small model of a chapel
	full houses with elements of living domestic architecture
