Memphis: The palace of Apries, the finds in the Petrie Museum

A number of high quality objets were found in the palace, including ivory carvings (from furniture?), statues in bronze and faience, calcite vessels and scale armour. Most of the objects date from the period of Achaemenid Iranian rule (perhaps the Second rather than the First Persian Period? - Aramaic inscriptions), to the Late Dynastic Period (vessel with name of king Djedher) and to the (early ?) Roman Period (leaden model trays).
