Aramaic labels found at Memphis, palace of Apries
Each label is identified by a letter. On one side they bear an Aramaic
inscription, and, in general, on the other a demotic one. They were found
together with Achaemenid seal impressions.
Even at the time of discovery they were barely legible: most are preserved
in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, and the clearest in the Egyptian Museum,
Cairo.
