Lahun in the Middle Kingdom (about 2025-1700 BC)

At the desert edge north of the modern village Lahun, lies the site of the pyramid complex of king Senusret II of the Twelfth Dynasty, and the largest surviving town site of the late Middle Kingdom (ancient name probably Hetep-Senusret, known in Egyptology as 'Kahun').
