the tomb of Horwedja

The mummies in the tomb of Horwedja were covered with bead nets, a very common adornment for mummies in the Late Period. The tubular and disk beads i UC 28056-8 would have been strung into a net of rhomboids; polychrome disk beads such as the fragment UC 28059 were used to compose figurative elements, here probably, as often, a face.
