UC 8446: stelophorous statue of Amenemipet (18th Dynasty)

Black basalt kneeling statue of man with hands raised in adoration over a stela ('stelophorous'), wearing striated wig. The stela is inscribed with a a hymn to the rising sun. Back pillar bears incised inscription: 'Royal Scribe, high steward of the king, Amenemipet, true of voice; it is his brother who causes his name to live ... Iahmes'. On the base Amenemipet is also called 'Director of festivals of Amun'.

This statue has been dated on stylistic grounds to the reign of Thutmose III.
