We recommend using public transport to visit the museum, where possible.

Detailed travel advice

By public transport

We are located a short distance from the following London Underground stations:

  • Belsize Park (Northern line)
  • Hampstead Heath (London Overground)

Bus routes 1, 24, 46, 268, C11 and N5 all serve the hospital.

By car

There are two public car parks:

  • Level 00: main entrance on Pond Street
  • Level 01: Rowland Hill Street, access from Haverstock Hill

You can pay for your parking time when you arrive, when you leave, or up until midnight on the day of departure.

Parking for blue badge holders is free for the duration of your stay in any space in the hospital's patient and visitor car parks.

There is a free five-minute drop off zone located outside the main entrance of the hospital with a strict no waiting policy in force.

Location within the hospital

Main entrance, Pond Street

Enter through the revolving doors and walk down the corridor, past the onsite shops. Continue down the corridor past the library. Arriving at the Medical School wing take the lift or stairs to the 2nd floor, turn right out of either, go through the double doors and then use the first door on your left. Note that the main entrance is not step-free.

Rowland Hill Street entrance

Come through the foyer and take the lift or stairs to the 2nd floor, turn right out of either, go through the double doors and then use the first door on your left.


Accessibility

The Pond Street entrance of the Royal Free Hospital is accessible, with lifts inside the building. If you would like assistance with planning your visit, please contact us.
